   we'll hear hardly a peep from the apologists. they'll either try to keep it mum or push the "it's not that big a deal" view.

   Obviously, it took Apple 2 years to deliver copy and paste -- therefore, it will take Microsoft the same amount of time to do the same.... except that their implementation will be a joke.
   
   Either that, or copy'n'paste is no big deal on a platform that very few people will use.

   They are EXACTLY duplicating the iPhone

   So, end-users can expect to have copy/paste functionality added to the third release of Windows Phone...I guess version 9?
   
   At least everybody will have 3 years notice of exactly what features MS will add to Window Phone...

   Actually its really hard to implement copy and paste on a full touch screen UI. MS is actually trying to copy it from Apple without making it too obvious and getting sued.

   It's a toy!

   So any Windows Phone 7 is thus not a serious business phone and is only just a toy. That's what I heard from complainers when the original iPhone didn't have it...3 years ago!
   
   Seriously, how are you going to effectively use those promoted Office apps on the phone w/out cut & paste?!!

   I was extremely disappointed

   when I heard the iPhone didn't have it (moons ago), and I'm baffled that Microsoft has made the same stupid decision to release without it.
   
   I only acquired an iPhone after they added the functionality. It was that important. It's a case of releasing an unfinished product, for both companies.
